Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a donut pan.
  • Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  • Whisk together the milk, oil, egg, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl.
  • Mix the wet and dry ingredients together until just combined.
  • Incorporate the chopped walnuts.
  • Fill each donut mould about two-thirds full with the batter.
  • Bake the donuts for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and cool for a few minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Prepare the caramel cream while the donuts cool by heating the caramel sauce and heavy cream in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth.
  • Dip the cooled donut tops into the caramel cream and set aside for a few minutes before serving.
